A millions of little dots etched in the black vacuum of the sky. As night darkens our life, the stars bring it some light...
A couple weeks back as I was about to begin my day, I awaited in my vehicle as it warmed up from the frigid New England cold. I sat in my car with the radio off and caught myself looking up at the stars. I couldn't help but wonder what life would have been like before all this, before all the artificiality, before all the distractions. I can imagine people just sitting in awe of this natural wonder. Big eyes with big dreams staring at the unknown.
What would life have been in a time where everything was still being discovered? A time when we hadn't walked on the moon, when the internet didn't keep us all connected.
Did they feel invincible? Did they feel lost?
I could never honestly know but what I do know is that I live in the world created by all these people. From time to time I catch myself staring up at these natural wonders, perhaps in a very similar way someone has before me. I get lost, I think, I get inspired, and then I move forward.
These stars shine night after night showing the vast open space (pun intended) we have yet to explore. In a time when much has been discovered and done, I still feel more is yet to be found. That we are yet on the cusp of following those greats that came before us.
This empty night sky, mirrors the undiscovered darkness inside me. The parts of my being I'm still learning about and have yet to discover. Every new adventure, new experience, new life hurdle makes the light shine brighter!
The stars are vast and yet so is our being. Look out and gaze sometime, get lost in it,then, get lost in yourself.
