Have you ever said something along these lines:
"I wish I could do __x___ !"
" I hope that one day I could make __x__ happen!"
If it sounds familiar keep reading. Many people have ambitions or dreams of things they would like to accomplish. At the same time they also believe these things can not be achieved. Be it to much money, to old, not enough talent or whatever other excuse.
What they hope & wish for are entrapped within those words. They use a vocabulary that already cuts them out of the equation.
A while back I came across a list entitled " What you say is what your are". After reading the list I noticed how the words we use determines what we are.
I printed out the list and promised I would start changing my negative self expression especially these two phrases "I wish" & "I hope".
See the way I see it now I don't hope for nothing, and I most certainly don't wish for anything. These words and phrases have been replaced.
Replaced with the likes of "I can" & " I will" or something similar. If you leave your actions to fate than you leave them to oblivion. You leave them in the darkest part of your mind nestled in a dark corner never to see the light of day.
The majority of us have been fortunate enough to be given able bodies. That is to say we are healthy without physical/mental ailments( and that is not to say these people can't do extraordinary things, because they can & DO!).
Fix your vocab and empower yourself more. When you say things like "I wish" & "I hope" effectively you're saying "I can't & "I won't". I know you think more highly of yourself, so lets your words express that.
As for myself I have drastically cut out this negative speak. In the rare occasions I catch myself saying something of these sorts I correct myself quickly!
I have chosen to value myself. I am capable and so are you. I've said this to others & now I say it to you...
Don't ever, for one second undermine yourself. You have the ability to share something unique that only you can share with this world....VALUE IT!
