I have been challenged quite a few times in my life. This challenge brought something unexpected, something unknown, something that has changed me yet again.
What I found was a sense of freedom, one which I hadn't experienced prior. Like the quote that begins this post, everything was ahead of me leaving behind only experiences, another life chapter that had come to an end. In front of me new adventure, miles and miles of experience, a land waiting to be explored -- a new beginning.
Each start of my engine began a day of new land, new buildings, new people. Time was a forgotten relic, a construct enslaving those stuck within their routine, I had none. I drove, drove, drove to my hearts content. I peered out ahead to the possibilities, to the wonderful feeling of traversing the unknown. Each mile added to the odometer was a new mile spent getting towards something unclear.
What I saw was freedom in its most purest undiluted form. One man, one car, free to come and go, to bask in the new, to live in the now.
The road is carefree, the road is ongoing, the road is life.
Those who are given the chance to traverse it look back with a smile, and look forward with clarity, for they know nothing will ever be the same again.
