"Will or do you travel with a child?"
This question may seem like a no brainer, our passion far outweighs any of the little things that hinder us to our next destination, bringing a child with us is a must!......if we can that is.
Now for those of you who don't share an EXTREME passion for travel, but like the idea of getting away from time to time, and have kids, the question might go:
" I'm going to ___x__ and I'm not sure if I should bring the kid(s)?"
You've planned this trip to escape, discover, or relax, and the idea of traveling with a kid is stressful....I hear you.
so now hear me out
As you can see when you initially come upon IHeartTravel,
My daughter is a very important person in my life, heck she is the most important thing in my life.
Since the day she was born she has brought me a happiness that cannot be compared! ( as I'm sure your child has)
From her initial cries at birth, to the present, she has been a happy, creative, curious little girl. One way I wanted to nurture this curiosity, was through travel.
When I was younger I was fortunate enough to have parents that traveled with my siblings and I. Our travels were primarily focused in North and Central America, and every bit amazing...... Perhaps they're to credit for the life I live now?!?
Anyways I knew someday I would get that same opportunity, and enjoy this passion with a little me.
When my daughter was born I knew she would travel at some point, at a very early age. Well six months into her life she was on a plane headed to the beautiful state of Colorado, for some country fun!
<-- (Ms. IHT jr at 6 months in Colorado...I miss these days !)
Recently I read an article dealing with the subject of traveling with kids
So I say to you this.....
If you have kids and you have a trip planned or even contemplated , than travel with them at every opportunity you get!
This world is HUGE and amazing! There are so many things to be done, to see, and having your kids take part in that adventure is nothing short of amazing.
My daughter and I recently got back from Guatemala and it was such a great time. We traveled on buses Guatemalan style, we walked and ran about some beautiful locations, and she got another country checked off her growing travel list.
She had her moments of travel induced stress, but I was more then willing to accommodate my little explorer for joining her adventurous/crazy dad.
If you are one to get stressed at the idea of traveling with a child, remember keep them occupied, keep an open mind, and join in on the fun.......o and I forgot PATIENCE......patience is key!
Trust me the sense of joy, and the memories made on your adventures, will be worth it when you child is not a child any longer !
So get that trip together you've been putting off, tell the kid(s) there is an adventure to be had....the world is waiting!
